The black cylinders pictured above are silencers to the diesel generators that we will have in the basement. The electrical load/capacity of the B1 data centre will be over 4,000 kVA (plus N+1 redundancy). One can imagine the amount of noise that it would take to power a facility of this capacity. The exhaust is first run from the generators to the silencer and then via an extended exhaust up past the roof level of the building. Should the generators become active, these silencers will substantially reduce the noise heard.
