The Smith Family believes that education is one of the most powerful change agents. They work with children and young people to overcome education inequality caused by poverty - so they can thrive now and into their futures.
By giving disadvantaged children and young people the support and resources they need to achieve their full potential, our impact will have a lasting effect on those we help today, and for generations to come.

We support The Smith Family’s core Learning for Life program, which provides thousands of young Australians in need with a proven combination of financial, personal and practical support. NXTPledge
To ensure that "giving back" is baked into our DNA, we have joined the Pledge 1% global movement. This is a corporate philanthropy movement dedicated to making the community a key stakeholder in every business.
Our Commitment
By taking the 1% Time Pledge, we have publicly committed to enabling and empowering our employees to be able to devote 1% of time (2.4 days per year) to give back to our community.
The pledge is part of our employees work day, it's not about trying to squeeze the 1% of time in at night or weekends, it's about taking advantage of all the community engagement opportunities available to our employees through the 'Live to Give' program.
Workplace giving program
Our workplace giving program allows our employees to make a positive impact to our community, by providing a simple and tax effective way to give to the causes they care about.
This program enables our employees to contribute a portion of their pre-tax salary to one (or more) of our workplace giving partners and receive the tax benefit straight away rather than waiting until the end of financial year.
As part of this program, NEXTDC has joined the One Million Donor movement which was launched by The Hon Malcolm Turnbull in 2014. The One Million Donors is a movement for social change, their mission is to see one million Australians making donations to charity direct from their pay by 2020.
NEXTDC donation matching
To embed 'giving back' into our DNA, NEXTDC matches employees donations 1:1. For every dollar our employees donate, NEXTDC will match their contribution dollar for dollar to the same workplace giving partner (up to the value of $200 per year).
